Auditorium Designer and Theatre Planner

Neil is a very experienced specialist theatre planning architect. After achieving his professional qualifications, he gained experience in both private and government practice before moving into theatre consultancy, where he writes briefs, creates conceptual designs and designs and develops auditoria, stages and backstage areas.

 

He was responsible for theatre design aspects of milestone projects such as the Calgary Centre for Performing Arts, the Royal Concert Hall in Nottingham and two major opera houses in Mexico.

Neil worked in the USA for three years before joining Theatreplan, where he has led the theatre planning and prepared the designs for the award-winning Hampstead Theatre, London, the RIBA Sterling Prize shortlisted Lyric Theatre, Belfast, the RIBA International award-winning School of the Arts, Singapore, and the 1,650-seat Copenhagen Opera House.
