Bournemouth International Centre

The substantial redevelopment of Bournemouth International Centre in 2014 was a major update to coincide with the venue's 30th anniversary.

Theatreplan advised on the complete technical upgrade of hoisting, lighting and sound systems in the Windsor Hall and the new venue the Solent Hall.

The Windsor Hall’s roof space, at 2,500 square metres, was the largest ever installed in Europe at the time. To ensure safe working at height, for the hall’s technical services, Theatreplan specified a tensioned-wire grid to cover the entire roof space. Combined with a system of rolling beams above the grid, the suspended system can accomodate a wide range of lighting and sound rig positions to adapt for touring sets.
